A 91°µÍř research experience rekindled an interest in medicine for Adriana Cuibus ’24, who is now a research technician at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center with plans to become a physician scientist.

Announcements

‌Move-in Day traffic  

91°µÍř will welcome 400+ students to campus between 8:30 and 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 28, for Pre-Orientation. The remainder of first-year and transfer students will arrive on Sunday, Aug. 31. Traffic, especially on North Broadway, will be impacted. Please avoid the North Broadway entrance and instead use the Clinton Street entrance, especially between 8 and 10 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 28. If you have a child at Greenberg Child Care Center, use the Clinton Street entrance. Take a left towards Palamountain Hall, and use the service entrance. New Student Convocation will take place on Tuesday, Sept. 2. Please monitor your email in the coming week for additional information regarding parking, Pre-Orientation, and Convocation.

‌Save the date: Founder’s Day Picnic  

‌All are invited to celebrate the start of our fall semester at the annual Founder’s Day Picnic, 4:30-6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 2, in the tent at Upper South Park. Murray-Aikins Dining Hall will be closed during this time. The Office of College Events is seeking volunteers to help serve food; contact collegeevents@skidmore.edu to get involved.

‌‌The Human Factor: Navigating AI in Higher Education 
Join Center for Leadership, Teaching, and Learning (CLTL) and Learning Experience Design and Digital Scholarship Support (LEDS) staff from 9 a.m. to noon on Wednesday, Aug. 27, in Gannett Auditorium for sessions on ethical AI use and faculty/staff AI use studies. Attendees are encouraged to with GenAI including , , , and . by Monday, Aug. 25. Required for AI micro grant recipients; open to all employees.

‌Skidtoberfest 2025: Call for vendors

‌The first Skidtoberfest will be held from noon to 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 18, on Upper South Park during Homecoming and Family Weekend. Students, staff, and faculty members are invited to sell their wares to family, friends, and alumni in attendance. Interested in becoming a vendor? Email the Office of Stewardship and College Events for more details.

‌Beginning Monday, Aug. 25, the will begin its fall semester hours: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday and noon to 3:30 p.m. on Saturday. Move-in weekend hours will be announced in next week’s Bulletin.
